You can unbox an unusualifier, not the taunt itself. The unusualifier is then applied to an existing taunt.

On topic - this might help you: https://backpack.tf/effect/Ghastly%20Ghosts

so to understand the history continue with the taunt? It isnt erased since the product of the unusualifier is a brand new item? weird..

Im sorry, i should clarify. I unboxed an Unusualfier and put it in a taunt unboxed earlier, that explains the history.

the item receives a new id when it is modified (such as when you use a strangifier or paint it or every time it moves from inventory to inventory even including moving to the SCM and back) but retains its _original_ id which is what sites like backpack.tf (and bazaar as well) use to track the item.

congrats on the unboxing btw!!! i will say i think it's worth more as an unusualafier than already applied, but still should be quite valuable given the rarity of the effect

it is weird (different)... when you applied, say, strangifiers to items, I believe they become new items w/ new ids, and no longer have the old unique item's trade history. cba to fact-check that rn tho.

they do retain the original id. example: https://backpack.tf/item/1451933205 - i'm the one who strangified this foppish. strangifiers weren't even available until august of 2013 and that foppish' id goes back to february 2013.
