1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? Alpha's a naggy nerd and I wanna ban people I feel motivated to help clean up the auctions section along with assisting with ticket management and helping the community in both forums and personal discussion. I also have experience in trading with all three major Steam games, something I see mods here lacking as far as my knowledge goes.
2. How old are you? 19, birthday in November
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? East Coast in the USA, work from 8:30 to 6, currently out of college, Monday through Saturday. (GMT -4:00) // Eastern Standard Time
4. Are you an active Steam user? More active than ryuji. So yes.
5. What experience do you have in community administration? In administration, nothing official to list.
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? Two forum bannus for shitposting and one from losing my temper a while ago, have worked on it since. Nothing outside of Bazaar other than one admin banning me from a TF2 server because I killed him too much.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? Keep in mind that we deal with reports, tickets, and complaints constantly. I'll put in as much effort as I can within my free time.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? If you were serious then Alpha wouldn't exist.
Hell, even if this doesn't go through, Alpha can't whine at me anymore.
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? I’m wanting to join the staff because the previous two times I’ve volunteered to help within the tf2 community I had an absolute blast. Truth be told I miss helping out other people aside from through steam chat when they run into trading issues such as they get scammed and the like.
2. How old are you? I’m 21 years old, turning 22 in August of this year
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? I live in Arizona in the United States, and I’m in the Mountain (Minus daylight savings time) time zone
4. Are you an active Steam user? I am; I'm on nearly everyday from the time I wake up to the time head to bed. I also try to be available on the steam mobile app in case something urgent comes up.
5. What experience do you have in community administration? I was one of five community server admins for The Association of Gamers from summer 2011 until its closure in late 2013 due to lack of funds for it to continue operating. My responsibilities included making sure the servers stay up to date and restart them if a problem arose. I feel my most important job was ensuring people who committed legitimate scams were banned from the server, and that I help the person who got scammed file a report as appropriate to the situation on sites like Steamrep. More recently I returned to community administration for a brief while on the Sodahappy community servers as a moderator. My basic jobs were similar to those with AoG, and I enjoyed it; at the time however I had to step down due to other obligations but this is no longer an issue.
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? I haven’t been banned anywhere I’m happy to say.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? Keep in mind that we deal with reports, tickets, and complaints constantly. I’m very willing, especially I’m typically in front of a computer and able to respond to messages. I genuinely like helping things succeed as well, just always had a knack for business-like situations.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? That’s fantastic to hear, I don’t really like when things are run so seriously it may as well be a cloak-and-dagger operation. Sorry if this application comes across as super-serious as well, it’s just how things I type up end up, heh.
I have used bazaar.tf for a long time, and have filed multiple reports in an attempt to keep the community clean and friendly. I believe this is a great, relaxed trading site and is a fun place to come and sell, buy or auction your items. Alpha, almighty lord of the melons, personally wrote on my profile stating I should consider applying which I felt meant I should humbly accept his request. I care about the bazaar.tf community, and believe I can benefit the site further by serving it from behind the scenes making sure people are both following the rules and enjoying themselves while here.
2. How old are you?
I am 19 years old. My birthday is March 29th, 1996
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone?
I live on the East Coast of the United States of America. I can most likely spend an hour or so a day moderating, which in my experience has been enough time to handle all daily tickets. My timezone is Eastern Standard Time (EST), and converted to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) would be (GMT-5)
4. Are you an active Steam user?
I am an active Steam user and currently have 69 hours of play time in the past 2 weeks according to my Steam Profile. Screenshot for proof: http://i.imgur.com/QUcjPFl.png
5. What experience do you have in community administration?
I have been a moderator of tf2outpost.com since September of 2014 where I have served in a trade/post moderator position. Other than that I have a very successful Steam Group you are all welcome to join, if you are truly a GIRL gamer: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/girl_in_real_life
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened?
I was banned from http://www.tf2newbs.com for a year because I did not bother writing an appeal for a while. I thought I had been banned because I believed I had been repeatedly killing one of the server admins and he got mad, but apparently it was because I had cursed in the chat, so they had decided to issue a permanent ban. Regardless, I finally appealed and it was removed, so I'm all good now.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf?
I am well aware of the never-ending flow of reports trading sites receive and do believe I can manage my time accordingly to handle them.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here?
r u srs bout not bein srs? i m srs bout u not bein srs. i got u.
I am currently only 17 at this time, turning 18 in April. I am simply posting this now to show my interest at this time, in case a time comes in which a slot is still open at the time. A fall back I guess. Best to have your options open, right?
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? I really have come to enjoy this community of people, and find the site a wonderful way to sell and buy Team Fortress 2 items. I was always eager to assist in any way I could, be it just looking at tickets and resolving them, or taking care of any work others did not wish to worry about at the time. I simply wish to assist in any way possible, while not being a complete burden. To improve everything I can is something I would love to do, and I see this place as a good start for more things to come in the future (Not ranking this site low or anything, its just more available, that is all). I have no coding skills if they are needed, but am willing to learn if I must.
2. How old are you? Currently 17 (as noted above) Turning 18 Early April 2015. If possible, I would take a tiny portion of work if allowed, or simply assist in smaller activities with a different administer of the site. If not, I can wait.
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? I live in New York State, and am normally open from 4-7 PM EST time to work on anything I can.
4. Are you an active Steam user? Constantly on daily, or every other day if possible. If I am not on for 3 days, I am most likely at a boy scout trip, or dead.
5. What experience do you have in community administration? I have no experience on websites, but have been a patrol leader for several year in my Boy Scout troop if that means anything. Currently in the committee for the Order of the Arrow in my lodge as well, and run major activities to promote the lodge.
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? I have no bans on any other site. Was banned on the forums here for spam posting on one post however.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? Keep in mind that we deal with reports, tickets, and complaints constantly. I am ready and willing to commit myself. I have plenty of open time to use and would much rather it be spent to improve something worthy. I am prepared to pull hair and become bald in a month.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? I go to this site daily. I am on the Forums, and talk with Alpha often. Not hard to tell at all m8s
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? Well, been waiting for this for a long time. Why not?
2. How old are you? 20 this year..
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? Malaysia, as long as you required me to. UTC +8
4. Are you an active Steam user? Yes.
5. What experience do you have in community administration? Well, I've been helping here and there for design work. Been like 2 years with eClub SEA (moderating servers), currently with Shana.sg monitoring their 2fort server.
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? No one ban CuddleCat™ *purrr*
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? Keep in mind that we deal with reports, tickets, and complaints constantly. Yes.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? So I heard.
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? Because I left a while back, needing to clear my head. I'm not 100% but I at least feel well enough to want to come back. You also never took my bazaar admin badge away, and everywhere I looked Alpha said "cum bak bby." Truth be told, I appreciated how everyone said they'd miss me even though I never left. It made me cry, reading back the farewell messages some of you wrote.
2. How old are you? 22 in March
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? See my previous application. I'm from Australia.
4. Are you an active Steam user? Yes
5. What experience do you have in community administration? You guys, laws of Minecraft, a Saxton Hale Server, and recently (though not really adminship) I'm managing a UGC Page for Australian Highlander team Midnights Demise.
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? A singular ban from Outpost for saying "Nigga, you trippin"
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? Depends. Is Dave still a faggot?
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? ...Thats not what I have seen in slack.
I'll do this properly if requested, but I need to be quiet and typing is loud. Everyone in the house is currently asleep
I'd like to premise the application by saying not much has changed since my previous application except that I've been a part of this community for about 5 more months since my previous application, I haven't had any new moderation experience since between my latest application and now, I've just played some more CS:GO, and got into Dota 2 as well now. Also, I've not submitted reports as of late since people seem to be following the rules quite well as far as I've seen, (I'm sure there are folks breaking the rules) however I am familiar with the reporting system and how it works.
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? You should really take some time writing your answer for this. I would like to join the Bazaar.tf Staff team for a couple reasons. First of all, I feel that I am the right person for this position because of my past experience, and my personality. I have the determination and necessary skills for this job as a member of the staff team, and I will not let you down. I have ample experience in moderating a community and I believe this sets me aside from others. My past experience moderating a large communities has forced me to work with others despite complications (most notably time zones). I understand two main traits, organization and communication. I am a very organized person and understand how vital organization is to making things happen. In addition to organization being key, I understand that communication is also integral to an effective and efficient group of staff members and a mixture of Skype, Teamspeak, Trello, Slack, etc allows this, my experience in working with these communication/organization utilities will be beneficial. Another reason I’d like to join the Bazaar Staff Team is because there are people who (sadly) are not the greatest, and their intent is to harm/scam others. I personally have been scammed in the past and know how heartbreaking/devastating it is and I would like to prevent this from happening as best I can. Lastly, I feel as though it would be fun to organize small Bazaar events. I previously organized events for the Overcast Network and truly had a blast with it, perhaps I could continue my organizing of events with Bazaar. Lastly, I've been a part of the Bazaar.tf community for quite a while now, and I feel that being able to volunteer would be a way of paying thanks to this fantastic community.
2. How old are you? I am 23 years old, currently going to college/university/whatever you may call it.
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? I currently live on the East Coast of the United States, and I feel I can spend between 1-3 hours a day moderating bazaar.tf. My timezone is EST, or UTC-4
4. Are you an active Steam user? I am a very active steam user, I play either csgo/tf2 every day. I have been a steam user for over 2 years now, and a couple games I have thoroughly played/play and enjoy are TF2, CS:GO, and Dota 2.
5. What experience do you have in community administration? I have extensive experience moderating large communities of people. I have been an administrator of a large (20,000 person) Team Fortress 2 Raffling Group. Although this may seem like somewhat minor experience, I was able to understand the troubles of dealing with a large community. I quickly learned that I had to be patient with others and that dealing with a bunch people trying to enter my raffle at once was quite difficult, but as I ran more and more raffles, I became more and more efficient, and patient.
I also did Administrate a Minecraft community called the Overcast Network. My time on the Overcast Network has been very valuable and I've learned a lot. I've also learned to deal with mass amounts of people communicating with me as there are consistently 1000+ players on the network. I've also learned what it feels like to be swamped in hundreds upon hundreds of website reports. I understand that this is not the amount of people that Bazaar deals with, but I feel that it my experience makes me more qualified for the position as a staff member over others who may apply. Not only have I moderated this community of players, but I have helped organize tournaments for the community too. I also helped administer a tournament that the Overcast Network ran, by planning the format, picking referees, picking tournament advisers, and making sure all the matches started seamlessly. This experience I have with tournaments could benefit the community of Bazaar, and bring some fun happenings to it!
6. If you've been banned from another community, what happened? I have been banned from the Overcast Network before. The reason I was banned was for “Hacking - High Jump”. This ban however was invalid because I actually had a jump boost potion but the moderator thought I was hacking. After I was banned, I alerted the moderator through the appeals system that it was but a mistake and I was not in fact hacking. What I learned from this experience was that as a moderator you must always be careful and understanding of those that you ban.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? Keep in mind that we deal with reports, tickets, and complaints constantly. Yes, I’m very aware that people can and will complain, and I’m prepared to deal with reports, support tickets, etc. I've faced it in past communities that I've been part of, what I've learned (and what I think is quite important to keep in mind when working with a large community) is that you can never satisfy everyone all the time. There will always be people who are upset.
Also, in my time with the Overcast Network, they had an online report system in which there were hundreds of reports each day. I understand that it is important to stay on top of the reports so that they don't pile up.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? Honestly, if every staff team was 100% serious all the time it would be painful. Everyone has to be goofy.
As a final note I do have experience with coding. I currently have worked with HTML, CSS, Python, XML and a bit of Java. I completed the Python course on Codecademy. This was useful to me because Python teaches a lot of the basics and concepts of coding while using very simple syntax. I also completed the HTML/CSS codecademy ages ago, but have not worked much with HTML/CSS since then. As for java, I've made my own test plugin before, and messed about with different data structures such as linked lists and binary search trees, but other than that, I've not spent much time learning the bukkit API or the Java syntax.
As for my experience with XML I've used it as a data file that the Overcast Network's Plugin, PGM, reads. XML is necessary for any map to work on the Overcast Network. Here are some of the XML files that I've written.
I would be interested in helping out with back-end stuff if I got the chance (even if it be "grunt work"), but I'm aware I would start as a "janitor" as everyone does, gotta start at the bottom.
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? You should really take some time writing your answer for this.
I've been using Bazaar.tf for a while, its a great place, its useful and really easy to use, aswell as customize, loved the Crystal.tf event a long while ago (and not just cause i won an item.), i found it rather Creative, i havn't really seen any of the admins/mods of this place, but i'm Guessing that they're really friendly and kind.
I'm wanting to be an Admin/mod here to give my support to the place as i've used it for a while, i may not get loads of trades incoming and such, but that doesn't mean its useless to me, i sometimes try and come in to help "Mini-mod" some places, even if its not here, just anywhere really.
Another reason is that i feel like i'm just being a lazy sack of ####, (i do swear, but i try to keep it to a limit if possible.) and being a mod/admin or something here would give me some extra work to do, keep me active and get to know more people and hopefully help with my downsides (one of them being 'Not so social with people').
If you need/want to talk to me on steam, you can find me here, i do use skype & twitter, but not a whole lot.
2. How old are you?
19, Birthday is 13th july 1995. (if needed i will provide some proof of it.)
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone?
Scotland, GMT-0 (UK time), I'm free all the time on Thurdays to sundays, Monday to wednesday not Completely free, due to college work (don't worry, i've got it all under control...)
4. Are you an active Steam user?
Indeed i am, basically on everyday for atleast 1 hour each day,
5. What experience do you have in community administration?
Been a Mod/admin in many places, not too large ones, most of them closed down to inactiveness and such, only been fired once or twice Due to Abusive use of some commands (This was in-game, was a bit upset about stuff and used !Givemeitem 8012 to cheer myself up for a bit... got a bit too carried away...)
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened?
banned from TF2R because 'Trolling', i didn't even troll, i just said that i'd probably buy a Balloonicorn in real life as a gift for my wee Niece (Hey, uncles gonna chip in their part) and that i'd raffle off the genuine that comes out it, they banned me cause they wouldn't believe me... Sadly i wasn't able to get the balloonicorn cause it was sold out at the time i had the money.
Edit: Forgot to add this one... Perma-banned From TF2OP, the 4th one was from asking someone how they got their item, but flat out ignores me, get banned for a few months and then give one of their Admins a bunch of abuses, tbh i never liked them anyways, they are a bunch of idiotic sharks and pricks, i'll just leave it there as i don't want to be too abusive on this clean, pretty good site.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? Keep in mind that we deal with reports, tickets, and complaints constantly.
I havn't done this sort of thing before completely, it'd be something new, but i'm willing to commit and learn.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here?
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? You should really take some time writing your answer for this.
This is going to sound like a giant cheese ball but here goes. When I was banned from outpost a year and a half ago (listed below) I thought it was the end of trading for me. I was trading in unusuals at that point and didn’t see how I could continue my unusual trading career without outpost. But then I somehow found bazaar.tf and I thought I might as well give it a try. Since then I’ve made a ton of trades, a ton of auctions, and a ton of friends. This has become my favorite community by far. And it only seems fair to at least offer to give back to the community that has given me so much. I feel that I have the time, skills, and inclination to get the job done.
2. How old are you? 19
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? US, Georgia EST the amount of time I can spend moderating will depend on my schedule semester to semester, but this last semester I spent around 3-4 hours per day (don't judge me) on bazaar.tf dicking around
4. Are you an active Steam user? decidedly
5. What experience do you have in community administration? -I own a steam group of just over 1000 members with an active forum (the one affiliated with bazaar.tf) -I am a server moderator for the largest raffle group on steam Team Fortress 2 Trade and Raffle group (http://tftrg.com/) so I do a lot on the server as well as on the forums (mostly reviewing moderator applications and dealing with spam and inappropriate content)
6. If you've been banned from another community, what happened? I was banned from outpost a year and a half ago due to a misunderstanding with a c/o. I appealed, and my appeal didn't get responded to. In January I re-appealed and my appeal got accepted.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? Keep in mind that we deal with reports, tickets, and complaints constantly. Yes, I've had plenty of experience dealing with unruly traders, both in trading and in the two communities listed above. I really like to help people and I think I could do a good job here.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? duh.

1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? Well, I really really love this website. I think buy now is just amazing, auctions are an awesome way to quicksell stuff and still get as much as possible out of it, or make some profit yourself, and I'd love to be a part of the staff. I also often see stuff like auctions for untradeable horseman heads of stuff with a high starting bid, or people who place phishing links everywhere, or "I BUY HAT 4 1 REF EACH TRADE ME" trades and stuff. I sent dozens of reports for those, it would be kinda nice to be able to clean them up myself. I mainly use this website so I'd love to get more people to move here and keep the website clean.
2. How old are you? Turned 18 exactly two months ago
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? The netherlands! Well depends what you mean by moderating. It it means going trough reports and replying to them or closing the reported trade I guess a lot of time. Im online like 4-6 hours a day , and like 10 daily on weekends... I should get out more, or get a life. timezone is GMT + 1
4. Are you an active Steam user? Like I mentioned up there, maybe a bit too active for my own good.
5. What experience do you have in community administration? Not too much, except for writing and sending tons of reports for scammers or phishers in trade servers or on outpost or bazaar or backpack tf.
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? Nope, never gotten banned so far, ever. (except that one minecraft server where someone reported me because he was jealous of my big ass house, damn you minecreeper657, I will get my revenge one day)
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? I really am. I followed 2 years of computer science but dropped the subject because the teacher didnt even know how to use excel. I am planning to go to a university and study game technology so I'd love to put some work in a website like this, it would be awesome to have my own website that'll hopefully be as succesful as this one. And about those reports and forums and complaints and stuff, if I wake up one day and see I got 50 phisher reports to reply to and check I'll do it, but I dont think I'd constantly keep working on it for over 2-3 hours a day, I mean, I need my own free time as well :p
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? Yep, Im pretty bad at taking myself seriously as well, so that shouldnt be a problem.
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? make my e-peen bigger Bazaar seems to have an active enough community and the current mods seem to have a stressful time managing both all three types of trades (Managing the quality of normal trading, keeping up with the Buy Now bots and their constant down time, and reports on Auctions). I would at least like to be given a title of janitor, as I dislike writing the messages on auctions that normally would be for admins to do. Backseat modding is a bitch :/
I also see that the rules system needs a re-working as even some admins on here don't agree with how they are worded, and would like to be a part of re-working them, and to chip in. Maybe also be a part of creating new sections for the site and helping to improve on the trading for other trading games supported by Steam
2. How old are you? 18 years of age, as of Nov. '95
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? Not sure how specific you want me to be here. I suppose United States, Pennsylvania would be sufficent. As of now, I currently am working from 8 AM to ~6 PM, but will change once I enter college, where I (surprisingly) will have more time. I work every day now, but will have classes only 4/7 days of the week, and will not be full day classes. I am accounting for time away to study and for homework also.
My current timezone is GMT - 4:00, or EST for the US.
4. Are you an active Steam user? I am. I use Steam daily and have been for 3+ years starting on April 19th.
5. What experience do you have in community administration? I have never been an official administrator for any site before. Negative point, I know.
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? I have never been been banned from any other community before.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? Keep in mind that we deal with reports, tickets, and complaints constantly. In the time that I am at my computer, I am more than willing to help with tickets and reports.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? Not at all. I think Alpha is the most serious mod here and needs to learn to lighten up a bit.
Before I start off, I just want to read you a short passage from the Book of Gaben. "Inu is love, Inu is life." - Holy lord Gaben of Valve, 2014. You should all meditate on this prayer.
-------------------------------------------------------- 1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? -------------------------------------------------------- I want to join the staff because it has helped me a lot and it really started off my trading career. Also, I'm thankful for you staff members for making Bazaar such a easy to use and friendly site. The main reason I want to join is because I see the admins taking time out of their schedule to make this a great place to spend time, and thats pretty cool. What I'm trying to say is that I want to be part of this community more then just a VIP checking bazaar a couple times a day. In my opinion, its good to have a hobby, but whats even better is to have that hobby that not only is fun but helps out others and keeps it a the great site it is. Even if you don't accept my application for admin, I still thank you for taking the time to read this and consider. Keep it up, guys. <3 -------------------------------------------------------- 2. How old are you? -------------------------------------------------------- I am 17, turning 18 in 2 weeks. I was talking to _Inu, and he said I should put up here the fact that you could either accept before the 22nd if my application is good enough, or just wait until after. If, of course, you think my application is okay. ( Duh ) -------------------------------------------------------- 3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? -------------------------------------------------------- USA, RI to be specific. About 1 - 3 hours a day. EST. -------------------------------------------------------- 4. Are you an active Steam user? -------------------------------------------------------- Yes. -------------------------------------------------------- 5. What experience do you have in community administration? -------------------------------------------------------- I'm a mod/admin on a couple of websites unrelated to steam/tf2. Also, a mod/donor on sh*tcentral. -------------------------------------------------------- 6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? -------------------------------------------------------- I have not been banned on any communities at all. :> -------------------------------------------------------- 7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? -------------------------------------------------------- I am. -------------------------------------------------------- Keep in mind that we deal with reports, tickets, and complaints constantly. -------------------------------------------------------- Yep, that's what you staff members are for, not just fooling around in lobbies. I've had experience with such things. -------------------------------------------------------- 8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? -------------------------------------------------------- I do.
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? You should really take some time writing your answer for this.
I always enjoy helping out in life. I am a natural helper and volunteer. If there is ever an event going on I am usually behind the scenes helping. For example, I am an avid gun enthusiast and decided to become an NRA certified instructor along as a NRA Range Safety Officer. So it makes sense to me that while Im trading I would also find a way to help out. It was one of the reasons why I brought The Drunken Brawl! back to life. I used to be a member of No Fear Killaz, back when you needed a WON ID to be able to play. But that’s a long story. More importantly it would be nice to help out in a community that I enjoy immensely.
2. How old are you?
Well over the age of 21
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone?
U.S.A. Easter Specifically Northern Ohio, Soon to be Florida!
4. Are you an active Steam user?
I am, 7 years and a few months, so far.
5. What experience do you have in community administration?
I am the founder of The Drunken Brawl! And have had it running since Beta release in TF2 as well as the community website to go along with it. It is a laid back “Adult” community, where those under the age of 18 are encouraged to play elsewhere. The language and conversation topics can be highly insulting to almost anyone and everyone from time to time. Its all done in fun and has a really rowdy back bar room atmosphere to it. That being said we do not condone or tolerate overt racism etc. however it is not for the easily offended or faint of heart. On the website I also run the lame phpbb forums. My website is thedrunkenbrawl.com
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened?
I have never been banned by another community per se. Outside of a server ban or two from a christian DODS server, and frequent team killing on a DODS server for "Adult Gamers Community", the later was expected and not a big deal there. I was an admin for the server and could unban myself. I left that community on good terms and am still friends with many who I played the game with. The Christian servers I got banned from along with others from the community I just mentioned was due to a high skill level compared to the players on that server. Plus when you have one member in your group tell the admin on the server to eat shit... ,well we all caught the ban hammer on it.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? Keep in mind that we deal with reports, tickets, and complaints constantly.
I am, I estimate that I can spend a ½ hour to an hour per day going through tickets. . I trade frequently and check the site as often. So I can reasonably take tickets as they come.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? Yes I do, certainly if you didn’t it would not be as nice a place to trade.
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? I'm spending some time on bazaar trades everyday, now I'm going to also use your forums because the one I was using to talk with people for last few months was closed so I don't have place to discuss anything right now. And if I'm going to use bazaar as my main place in internet and you need a help then I'm ready to give you a hand.
2. How old are you? 23 (will be 24 in January)
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? I live in Poland (UTC+1:00) and for now I can spend few hours per day moderating bazaar (about 2-3 hours between 11:00 and 15:00 and sometimes 1-1,5 hour after 0:00). In October I'll be studying and don't know how much time I'll have then but probably also few hours.
4. Are you an active Steam user? I'm online everyday (if not from PC then at lease from mobile phone) and in fact steam is my main communication channel (except the phone) because I don't use any facebook, google+ and other things like these). And one thing about steam, there is "no more than 5 banned people in friends" in requirements, i have many blocked users but they're almost all phishing bots, I have only one human user banned so I hope you'll understand and make an exception in this case.
5. What experience do you have in community administration? 2005-2007 junior admin at our school forum 2006-2008 moderator at grafart.org (polish graphics forum) 2009-2010 moderator at bajkitv.pl (polish cartoons and movies service) 2013-2014 admin on TF2 server wstrzyk.pl later sold and renamed to multi-head.pl
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? Well I was banned from this bajkitv.pl cartoons service because there was another moderator, who thought he didn't have to respect the rules and he was provoking and insulting me and other users so I banned him permanently but head-admin said it wasn't enough good reason for perm ban and that I can't deal with people... I don't even care if it was fair that he banned me.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? I wouldn't write it if I wasn't ready to help.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? Well the best example is that I don't see the third dimmension (just 2) and when people are kidding at me that I should work with 3D graphics or go to the cinema for 3D movie I just laugh with them because every 10 minutes of laugh makes your life 1 day longer, beeing to serious is deadly
I've spent a long time trying to make change to my life. A little over half a year ago I left the moderation team to try to get my life back on track. I am getting to the point where I have achieved balance in my work life and academic life, and I am ready to try to reintroduce some basic pleasures into my life. One of those pleasures is Bazaar.tf; I have always loved this community both as a user and as a former staff member. Thus, it only seems natural that I should want to give back to the community in the form of moderation. It's something that I enjoy doing, but more importantly it's something that I want to do to serve this community that has brought me much enjoyment and hopefully will continue to do so.
2. How old are you? I am 20 years old, and will be having my 21st birthday in December.
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone?
I live quite close to Seattle, Washington - This means I am on Pacific Coast Time, GMT-7. I will be able to spend ~2 hours a day moderating until around mid-september and at that point I will have more along the lines of 6 hours a day available to me. I have mentioned previous "availability deadlines" to staff in past but this one is concrete, definite.
4. Are you an active Steam user?
I have not been active recently due to scheduling issues and I will not be able to access steam client or steam games until mid-september, however I will be able to actively use Steam through the steamcommunity website between now and that time.
5. What experience do you have in community administration?
I have worked as a Bazaar.tf admin in past.
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened?
I recieved a ban from outpost for calling out an outpost moderator on favoritism - which to be fair I did deserve. I posted a statement on another user's trade in which he was selling unusuals with Halloween effects, which he believed to be devaluing of his item. I was allegedly reported and the moderator hid my comment. The thing that set me off was that this user was a donator and I felt he was being given preferential treatment so I cursed out the moderator publicly. I absolutely deserved the ban I got and I learned my lesson.
This was a while ago - something like 3 years - so I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I know it was something along those lines.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf?
Having worked as a moderator and admin for several months at Bazaar.tf, and still wanting to return after my leave of absence, pretty much proves I'm willing to commit to moderating this website.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here?
B-b-but Inu, I thought you said things had changed! I thought that meant things were more serious!
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? Not going to lie, this is purely and simply for my own gain, in the sense of improving myself. People need to start somewhere, when they want to try and get further in life. Plus, I feel comfortable on this site, The current team appears dependable, and honest. Frankly, I can't think of a better place to try and help manage. I'm going to further my own personal skills in this position, and helping the community is a bonus. As you can tell, I'm brutally honest, and I believe honesty is the best policy.
2. How old are you? I am 21 years of age, and will be 22 in March.
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? I live in Australia (AEST+10) and can spend a few hours moderating weekly. This may change drastically, as I do work as a baker in reality. My sleep pattern doesn't exist. However, Especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays, my time, will be the days I can get the most done. This is likely to change when my shifts do, which will be at any moments notice (Though this will be standard for at least a month)
4. Are you an active Steam user? Considering I'm on daily, I would say so.
5. What experience do you have in community administration? Seven Sins Gaming - Junior Administrator for Saxton Hale server - Roughly 1.5 years before quitting. Laws of Minecraft Australian Server - Senior Admin for 3 years before quitting.
Both of these were done at roughly the same time, and I had to step down from both due to studies.
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? Not so much banned, but was temporarily removed from Admin from Laws of Minecraft for a month for an April Fools joke gone bad (Necro'd too many pages one year.)
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? I would say so. Otherwise I wouldn't be wasting my time on this application, and you wouldn't be wasting your time with this.
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? While I am coming off as serious in this, I know when to stop and have a laugh. Hell, when I was an admin for Laws of Minecraft, I, in collaboration with an IRL friend, was the one that started the annual April Fools jokes. I will take the position seriously, doing what I can for the benefit of Bazaar, like I always have with my previous experiences, I will back off when needed to. Just know I'm not going to pull punches on repeat offenders - as this is my biggest pet peeve.
I end this with best wishes, and no hard feelings. I know some people aren't fit for certain positions. But I've been honest - I care for this community, else I wouldn't have put so much money into the site, but applying for this position is purely for my personal gain, for my future self.
For any recommendations, I can point you to Hallucinative, the owner of Laws of Minecraft. I can't really give anything for Seven Sins Gaming, but if you wanted, I could dig up some information regarding it.
*Takes off fedora and sits down* Hiya, I'm teemo, or satan, or whatever you want to call me.
1. Why do you want to join the Bazaar.tf Staff? -I'm a really chill yordle and this is a chill community, i love yall. I know people hate me because I shroom everywhere n my laugh is annoying but if ya'll didnt notice, i kinda care bout this community and growing it.
2. How old are you? -Over 18
3. Where do you live, and how much time can you spend moderating? Also what is your timezone? -USA EST probs like a few hours a week. You want my room and street number too?
4. Are you an active Steam user? -o hail gabe.
5. What experience do you have in community administration? -I'm bout to get a degree in social work soon™ if that matters...thats all i got really.
6. If you’ve been banned from another community, what happened? -Banned from outpost because some guy raged and stalked me, so I went on my alt account to give him a -rep. Giving a rager, or even a scammer on outpost was against the rules. Previous warnings were for relisting despite some admins telling me my trades were fine.
7. Are you really willing to commit to putting in work for Bazaar.tf? -Sure ill do some stuff. Just worried about school. Not sure how long you guys work round here...but I'd love to work with curly-senpai, we could both be auction admins or something. sorry dave
8. Finally, do you understand that we don’t conduct ourselves too seriously around here? -Yeah thats kinda a problem ive noticed. Being too lax can be a bad thing.
